My 9-yr. Old sister is being cheesy with

"Hui, friend kamusta ka na?" a text message from my sister read.

"Hui, friend ayos lang ako," her friend replied.

"Friend, may assignment ba tayo?" my sister asked.

"Wala. Bakit di ka pa natutulog? Gabing gabi na ah."

"Di ako makatulog kakaisip sayo, BEA."

Boooom! Headache. I need paracetamol.

  2. @Seth - I don't know. I feel obliged to check since she's a 9-y.o. shouldn't her messages get monitored since she's at a young age? Just checking if everything's okay.

I don't know but this has been a debate in different parenting articles. I'm leaning towards checking.

    1. I don't think you should be snooping at all. What if they returned the favor and also went into your stuff and found out about your preference?

Unless she is supposedly seeing an older man then perhaps you should be concerned. Kids have ways and means to talk. Besides, you're the brother not the parent. Even parents have a very delicate layer of trust from their children they need to protect.

You were given the chance to bloom and grow at your own pace. She deserves the same. :)

    2. Hear hear.

Ako, I never touch my siblings' phones. Bahala sila sa buhay nila. Don't get me wrong ha, love na love ko yung mga yun, but they deserve some privacy as much as I do.

      Live and let live.

  3. @Sep - I know right. Anyway, looks like nanay and tatay need to prepare themselves with the possibility of not having grandkids.

    unless we adopt. :)

  4. Thanks, @Seth! I haven't considered that. Maybe I should wait for her to come to me instead in case anything arises.

But how would I know if there is something that may lead to the wrong path?

sorry for not using the reply function. Using mobile. :)

    1. Simple. These are children technically, any reduction of their usual enthusiasm or energy should be a sign that things aren't going well.

    4. Marlin: I promised I'd never let anything happen to him.
Dory: Hmm. That's a funny thing to promise.
      Marlin: What?
Dory: Well, you can't never let anything happen to him. Then nothing would ever happen to him. Not much fun for little Harpo.

    1. Hahaha. By that age naman siguro marunong na yung bata magka-crush. Minsan kasi tuwing nanonood kami ng Going Bulilit o kaya kahit anong palabas na may batang lalaki tinatanong ko kung may nattype-an siya. Waley raw. Ehem ehem. Hahahaha
